Dear Friends,
In my DC day’s, Tad and I were involved in an ultimate marathon in which the game was played continuously for about 60 hours on the same field and raised thousands of dollars in pledges for a school for the deaf. Mind you, the Washington Area Frisbee Club had about 1,200 folks from its summer league to use in rotation. But with help from neighboring Ultimate groups and someone willing to let a field get trashed, we might be able to do something on a smaller scale.

Subject: [noultimate] easy for me
to say...
I've been trying to post the ad for signup on nola.com and wwoz.org. I
got rejected on a bunch of nola.com boards, but they let it stay up on
the 'recreation' board.
On OZ, I got denied cuz they say they don't allow postings for a
commercial groups. Unless it's a concert.
So of course, that just got me to thinking. Why don't you all try to
come up with a fundraiser, signup thing with a band? There's probably
enough of you to put together a little blues band or something. Or
maybe using your connections in the community, you could drum up a
band of some kind to play a little event somewhere.
Then you'd get it listed on WWOZ and under the concert listings
everywhere. I guess that's the way New Orleans works.
I'd put my band on the bill if we could make it...

Anyways, good luck getting numbers. You've got 20 people so far!
