to all those concerned, do you have any comments or ideas that will help make
these tourneys better?
please respond with any ideas or suggestions
greggy and mark have had these good suggestions: a regular schedule and
shortened play during pool play
i m suggesting the third sunday in each month as a potential regular date
it will make it easier to recruit and potentially possible to get the restrooms
open on the fields
but this may need to be adjusted for holidays, college exams, and out of town
tournaments
mark suggests one game to 9 instead of best of 3 games to 5 for the pool play
round
which seems to make sense.
OTHER THOUGHTS:
we were low on numbers particularly from the city side again
i think there are multiple solutions to the multiple resulting and causing
problems:
to stop people from become too tired for a good finals/semis: play pool play one
game to 9
city players that refuse to play goaltimate: i ve got no clue how to get them
out, but there are a lot of them. any ideas.
recruiting new players to avoid low numbers
(which is going to get worse when tulane gets out for the summer):
i m going to look into wtul who will announce non-profit events on the radio for
free and might hit our target audience. also i will make up flyers that we could
put up on tulane campus and in some bars (rosies, king pin, and big top i m
thinking)
