I am opposed to throwing all keepers in this year, as
I feel that it would not be fair to scrap the keeper
system this year, as some people have tried to build
their core team around them. I for one like the
strategy of the keeper system, you can try to gamble
on young guys, flash in the pans, or producing vets.
You can boom or bust based on your strategy and luck.
I have had several busts and injuries hurt my team in
my short tenure with the league.
I can see problems with the football keeper format,
because there are many more guys picked up in baseball
during the season that aren't incorporated in the
draft unless you consider them your last round pick.
Like I am gambling on Longoria to win a starting gig
with the Rays.
I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to a phase out or
maybe cut down on the number of keepers. The problem
we are running into is that people are stacking up on
positions. We could limit someone to only keeping 1
player per position, so for instance it would prevent
teams from having 2 1b keepers already and causing
shortages per position.
It seems to me that scouting may be even more
essential this year to have a decent draft.
Just my two Lincolns.
