ALEX BIRD TROPHY
Barry Collects Cheltenham Prize.
Cheltenham - the first leg of the 2007 Alex Bird Competition may
have proved a race too far for some of us, but not for everyone, and
certainly not for Barry Sheils, who won with 175 points. Close
behind were Tim Cogan - 165 and Colin Malone, the reigning champion,
who indicated that he is not easily going to give up his crown, with
162 points.
There was a good turn out of 40 resulting in total entry fees of
£200. Under the new system, Barry receives a tasty £160.
Congratulations to him. All the scores are shown below, and now we
move on to Aintree where those of us down the field can make up
ground - we hope!

Betfair is growing, at such a rate that an average Betfair member can
apply the right strategy and win consistently. You are standing in
front of a mountain of potential wealth online, the only problem is
you can't see the route yet.
You see last week I was thinking, I'm mad as hell at how the world of
trading strategies that actually worked was closed off to the system
buying public. I know these so-called experts who sell online trading
systems, and moreover, I know what they aren't telling you.
And, its such a shame, because there's more than enough cream for
everyone to have a taste. The Betfair market is literally humongous,
and contrary to the general feeling amongst Betfair's elite traders,
there is room to tell the truth.
There is room to let a select few people into the inner circle, and
make them privy to the knowledge being used each and every day. These
strategies are no more complex than the phony ones being sold every
single day, yet they dig deeper than that.
They go right to the very core of the decisions made in the market
each match, and give you a comprehensive, learned view of exactly
what is going on. AND this knowledge is the power you need to become
one of the few.

Dear All
Just a final reminder about the Cheltenham Preview Night at Haydock
Park next Monday. The staff at Haydock will direct everyone from the
car parks to the meeting room.
The panel details are still expected to be as shown on the club web
site : http://www.northernracingclub.com/ForthcomingEvents.htm
Although the preview starts around 8pm it is adviseable to arrive
earlier if possible as this is our busiest preview of the year. A
cash bar is available and we aim to finish around 10.30pm with a
formal interval break.
If you are considering bringing a non member as a guest they can
join on the night and receive a free ticket for next month's Aintree
Festival Preview Night which also takes place at Haydock. It still
costs just £20 a year to become a member with benefits of joining
detailed more fully here:
http://www.northernracingclub.com
I would stress that however non members are always made welcome
still!
Whilst we will have a supply of racecards and festival trends
details on the night if the attendance is very large we may run out
of certain items thus you can download these in advance if you wish
from http://www.racingpost.co.uk/news/home.sd and
http://www.northernracingclub.com/CheltenhamTrends.htm
For those who have not attended a preview night before or are new to
the club we also run a tipping challenge at four of the main UK
Racing Festivals - it costs a fiver to enter and for Cheltenham we
would expect a prize fund of at least £200 based on previous years -
applications are available on the night but details can also be
found on the web site below:
http://www.northernracingclub.com/AlexBird.htm
Good luck to all over the festival period!
Best Wishes
Phil Evans
