March 9th MEETING - 10 YEAR TRENDS

Previous race trends can often help provide a shortlist of potential
winners in the current year's races - hopefully these brief pointers
will assist racegoers at Carlisle today. There are no previous
details in respect of the 4.45 race which is run in new format this
year.

(2.10) 2M 4F Novice Hurdle: . favourites have a 50% record in this
race with all but one winner having SP of 4-1 or shorter. All
finished 5th or better in last race. 5&6yo have best record.

(2.40) 2M 4F Beginners Chase. Favourites have more modest record in
this event with last three winners being 14-1 or longer. Winner
usually comes from leading stable (see table below).

(3.15) 3M 1F Novice Hurdle. 3/6 winners were favourites but
remainder had odds of 10-1 or longer. Preferred age group is 6-7
years old.

(3.50) 3M 2F H'cap Chase. well backed horses do well in this race
with 50% of favourites winning and all winners SP's being 9/2 or
shorter. All but one finished 4th or better in last race.

(5.00) 2M H'cap Chase: Just one outsider has won this in last 10
years with remainder well backed at 6-1 or shorter (favourites
winning 4/10 races). Last run seen usually 5th or better.

(5.30) 2M 1F NH Flat : There have been two long priced winners but
overall the well backed horses (4/1 or shorter) usually prevail with
favourites winning 5/10 races. Look for a 5th place or better on
last run.
