The Middleham Stables Open Event, which is sponsored by Dales Life
Magazine, presents a unique opportunity to visit some of England's
top racing stables. It will be officially opened at 9.15am in the
Market Square, by the Rt Hon William Hague MP and television and
radio star Kathryn Apanowicz, the partner of the late Richard
Whiteley.
Last year more than 6,000 people attended this popular event and
over £19,000 was raised for local charities.
Horse racing has been at the heart of Middleham since the 18th
century when race meetings were held on the High Moor and today the
town accommodates seventeen of England's flat and national hunt
trainers with over 500 horses in training.
All proceeds in aid of Middleham Key Centre and other charities
