FEB 20th MEETING - 10 YEAR TRENDS

Previous race trends can often help provide a shortlist of potential
winners in the current year's races - hopefully these brief pointers
will assist racegoers at Carlisle on Monday (wether permitting).
Only four of the day's races have records for a minimum of three
years - they are:

(1.30) 2M 4F Nov Hurdle. All four previous winners had SP's of 3/1
or shorter although favourites have modest 25% strike rate. Best age
group is 7yo with ¾ wins. All last raced 13-44 days earlier.

(3.10) 3M 4F H`cap Chase. Again it seems best to follow the better
backed horses as all four winners had s/p's of 9/2 or shorter
although favourites have a 50% strike rate this time. 8yo are the
preferred age group with ¾ wins and a last completed race position
of 4th or better was seen in all winners. A decent break of 21-50
days also seen since last outing.

(3.45) 2M 1F H`cap Hurdle. No favourite has won on the 4 past
runnings although three winners were reasonably backed with s/p's
between 9/2 and 11/2. Horses carrying minimum weight of 10st have
picked up ¾ wins also and interestingly all four winners were ridden
by either conditional or amateur jockeys claiming a weight
allowance. All aged between 6-8 years.

(4.55) 2M 4F H'cap Chase. Only 3 previous races although favourites
fare well with 50% strike rate (one was jt fav). A last run of 5th
better with a lay off for 13 days+ also seen in all past winners.
Weight range 10st 3lb to 11st 3lb preferred.

In addition to actual race trends it is worth looking at the leading
jockeys & trainers at this meeting over the last 10 years as follows:
