Saturday Racing 10 Year Trends Feb 4th.
SANDOWN
Whilst the Victor Chandler race at 1.30 has had various venues in
recent years
one common trend is that 8yo fare the best having a 50% strike rate.
That leaves
Dempsey & Kalca Mome as possibilities I do prefer the former
although favourites
have only a moderate record at 30% and lower weights are generally
favoured
In the Agfa Chase at 3.45 the weight of past winners sugegsts that
this race was between
Ladalko and Halexy although the latter now runs at Wetherby instead.
Whilst that seems to
make Ladalko a banker selection based on trends I would urge caution
as the favourite
has not won this since Desert Orchid in 1991.
WETHERBY
In the opening hunter chase at 1.10 Caroline Bailey has won 6/10
last races. Todays
runner DENVALE is probably not in the same league as her other
winners but at around 10-1
may offer a value ew bet.
LINGFIELD
The 3.00 race over 5furlongs has not been won by a horse drawn above
6 in last 10 years
thus making fav Fyodor opposable. As favourites have modest record
at 16% anyway this adds weight
to laying Fyodor. With past winners also in good recent form Id
suggest LES ARCS as the one to take
on the jolly.
In the 4.10 race over 1mile this has had fields of 12 in 5/10 races
with stall 5 winning three times and
stalls 4 & 11 winning others. WILTSHIRE has C&D form in the past and
from the 'lucky' stall
may be ew value at around 16-1.
In the sprint finale at 4.40 lower stalls are again usually best
albeit horses with best ratings
in maiden do oblige still but often do not represent good value. In
fields of 8 in this race
in the past 10 years only stalls 3&4 have obliged. Whilst stepping
up in class PHINERINE
has some decent runs in past and may be a safer ew option at around
10-1 today.
