YOUR HOTEL
HILTON, Corby
This modern 4-star hotel is situated on the edge of the idyllic
Welland Valley, yet within easy reach of Newmarket and Cambridge.
There are two restaurants and two bars, offering contrasting
atmospheres. There is a spacious Leisure Club, with swimming pool,
sauna, steam room, whirlpool spa, solarium and gymnasium. There are
also two full size snooker tables.
ITINERARY
FRIDAY: We will make a morning departure, and having made a coffee
stop en route, we should arrive in Newmarket around lunchtime.
We have arranged for the party to be given an exclusive, short talk
on Tattersalls and its history, before attending a session of the
Yearling Sales – a fascinating experience! At the end of the
afternoon, we will proceed to our hotel for dinner.
SATURDAY: Morning departure for Newmarket where we will visit a
trainer's yard and then go to the Heath to see the horses going
through their morning work. Next stop will be the National Stud.
You will be shown around the stud, seeing stallions who have won
Europe's greatest races, including the Derby, and the visiting mares
and foals. We will then go to the racecourse where we have tickets
for Tattersalls and the Paddock. You'll enjoy an afternoon of top
class racing before returning to our hotel for dinner.
SUNDAY: We will leave our hotel and head for Cambridge. Many of the
colleges are open to the public or you can take an open top bus
tour, or a punt on the river. You'll find an excellent lunch in any
one of the quaint pubs or lively bistros. We leave after lunch and
should arrive back home in the early evening.
