Royal Ascot Preview – Aintree Monday June 13th

Tomorrow is the NWRC preview night for the 2005 Royal Meeting.
Already confirmed on the panel are Charlie McCann of Talk Sport and
Keith McHugh from the Oldham Chronicle – winner of the 2004 Racing
Post naps table! Another leading racing professional is also
expected to attend with our own ( & Radio Merseyside) presenter
Kieran Rowbottow chairing the meeting.

For this meeting we have a two for one entry promotion – if you
already have a voucher please use that if not please print this e

Don't forget that Royal Ascot is the third leg of this year's Alex
Bird Tipping Challenge – it costs just £5 to enter with £125 prize

NWRC Summer Racedays

The club has arranged sponsored race days at Chester, Carlisle and
Haydock Park – full details are shown below – if you wish to attend
you will be most welcome and for those who haven't yet got involved
with the pre & post race presentations this is your chance!

Another date for diaries is Aug 6th at Haydock Park where there will
be a race named after the late David Scott who was a longtime
active member of NWRC until his sad death in 2004. Hopefully many of
his old friends from the club will be there in support on the day.

Friday July 8th – CHESTER RACEDAY - FLAT) – still provisional
although we are offered the race as long as commercial sponsor does
not appear at the last minute. As we have been offered the race late
we are not selling badges for the meeting but would ask for
volunteers for pre race BTO & post race presentations, subject to
confirmation that the race has been confirmed. E mail

Friday July 15th - CARLISLE RACEDAY (FLAT) – Whilst this is a mid
week fixture it is a Friday and with racing at Cartmel on the
Thursday it's a good excuse for a long weekend in the Lake District!
Our April race day at Carlisle was not that well attended thus we do
hope that more members will be present in July. Please e mail me
before July 2nd if you wish to assist with pre & post race
presentations or would like to take up the badge offer fort he

Friday Aug 5th - WEATHERBYS TRIP and optional evening racing at
Newmarket. (Status Quo Night). Itinerary includes a tour of
Weatherby's with talks by various people in the morning followed by
lunch. Cost is only £4 NWRC members and £5 all others. To book
please e mail fiddler62@... to reserve a place Brian
Goodwill has also offered to take visitors to Newmarket down to the
start of a race and also visit the weighing room to see the behind
the scenes action. This is an opportunity not to be missed!

Thursday (eve) AUG 11th – HAYDOCK FLAT RACEDAY- We shall again have
a private room/bar in the Tommy Whittle Stand and discounted badges
will be available at £16 pp (members) saving around a third on the
standard price. To order badges please send orders to NWRC (plus
SAE) to 53 Dalebrook Rd, sale, Cheshire, M33 3LB to arrive no later
than Wednesday 3rd August.

Monday 15th August – YORK EBOR PREVIEW

SEPT 17th – Ayr Gold Cup Trip


Lesley Lowe is putting together a great trip on Saturday Sept 17th
to one of Ayr's show piece meetings of the year when most of the
country's top sprint handicappers will be on duty.

The trip comprises luxury coach travel from Carlisle Racecourse and
Tattersalls ticket and costs approx £25 (subject to final numbers ).

To ensure the trip is successful Lesley is also offering the trip to
Carlisle Racegoers so to reserve your place please contact Lesley at
21 Freer St, Carlisle, CA2 5JX stating number of places required and
a deposit of £15pp payable to NWRC.

Let's give this new initiative our support and book your place as
soon as possible! For those living outside Carlisle parking will be
available at the coach pick up place.

October 7th-9th - NORTHERN RACING WEEKEND at Carlisle, Hexham and
Newcastle. This will include overnight stop near Hexham on Fri/Sat
nights with members making own way to races/hotel albeit some car
sharing may be possible on race days. So we can gauge numbers likely
to attend and seek a suitably sized hotel can interested members
please contact nwrc@... to register an interest.
