NWRC Aintree Preview - Haydock Park 7.45pm Wednesday April 6th




The biggest North West race meeting of the year! Join the NWRC
preview night with a panel of leading racing pundits to guide the
audience through the three day meeting.



At Haydock the meeting takes place in the Jubilee Suite where a cash
bar is available all evening.



Entrance costs £4 for NWRC full members and £5 for all others.

Carlisle Raceday - Sunday 17th April




The first of our two race days at Carlisle this year. Whether you
need badges or not you are welcome to volunteer to assist with the
pre race BTO judging or post race presentations – please e mail
to
nwrc@... if you would like to assist in this way and your
name will go in the hat.



This meeting is the `family day' format on a Sunday and to
keep in
the spirit of the meeting we are arranging a group booking for the
Cumbrian Punters Package as below:

TUESDAY APRIL 26th - FLAT SEASON PREVIEW NIGHT

NWRC's 2005 Flat Season Preview will also be held at Haydock Park
racecourse (Horseshoe Suite) at 7.45pm. Entry costs £4 full
members
and £5 all others.



MAY STABLE VISIT

As the flat season will be well underway by the time you read this,
we have arranged a visit to the lovely yard of Mark Brisbourne at
Great Ness, between Oswestry and Shrewsbury in Shropshire. He has
already had a good start to 2005, with an 11% strike rate on the all
weather.

There is also the option to go racing at Uttoxeter in the afternoon.

Details are :- Date - Sunday 8 May time - Meet at 10:00, location to
be advised.

Cost - £4 per member and £5 for guests.

Cheques to be made payable to NWRC and booking will be taken on a
first come, first served basis. Please include your membership
number and a telephone number in case of last minute changes to the
arrangements. Please also include your e-mail address if you have
internet access.

An SAE, large enough to enclose two sheets of A4 paper, should be
included in all bookings. A map will be sent out showing the
location.

Saturday May 14th - BANGOR ON DEE RACEDAY

A group booking is being arranged and also a table reserved in the
Wynstay Restaurant. Paddock badges are £13pp with optional
reserved
place in restaurant for the whole afternoon being £5pp. Meals are
reasonably priced and are paid for as taken.

Monday - June 13th - ROYAL ASCOT (AT YORK) PREVIEW NIGHT

This meeting takes place at Aintree Racecourse in the Valentine
Suite at 7.45pm. Entry costs £4 for full NWRC members and £5
for all
others.

Friday July 15th - CARLISLE RACEDAY (FLAT) - further details to
follow.

Friday Aug 5th - WEATHERBYS TRIP and optional evening racing at
Newmarket. (Status Quo Night). Itinerary includes a tour of
Weatherby's with talks by various people in the morning followed by
lunch. Cost is only £4 NWRC members and £5 all others. To book
please e mail fiddler62@... to reserve a place Brian
Goodwill has also offered to take visitors to Newmarket down to the
start of a race and also visit the weighing room to see the behind
the scenes action. This is an opportunity not to be missed!

October 7th-9th - NORTHERN RACING WEEKEND at Carlisle, Hexham and
Newcastle. Further details to follow.

We have two copies of Jenny Pitman's book Double Deal as prizes
this
month.



The question is: Name the horse and jockey that won the 1993 void
National when trained by Jenny Pitman.

Cheadle Hulme and Ian Coote from Warrington – your prizes will be
available at the Aintree Preview or alternatively will be posted out
if you are unable to attend on Wednesday.
