NWRC E Mail Update - 9th Jan 2005
First of all can I wish you all the best for 2005!
HAYDOCK RACEDAY - JAN 22ND
NWRC will be supporting a race on the days card which features the
Peter Marsh Chase and several top Cheltenham Trial races. The club
has use of Luncheon Room 6 in the Tommy Whittle Stand and whilst this
does not directly overlook the course it does provide a convenient
meeting place in between races and we have a cash bar available
throughout the afternoon. NB This year's raceday sweep will also
include a donation towards the Tsunami Appeal so please try to enter
the sweep before the start of the 1st race if you are attending. If
you are already badgeholders you are welcome to join the other club
members on the day and if you require any additional badges these are
available at a discounted rate of £16pp saving around 33% on the
normal price. Any requests for badges need to be sent to NWRC at 53
Dalebrook Rd, Sale, M33 3LB to arrive by Jan 14th at latest - please
also include a 1st class SAE.
NORTHWEST RACING CLUB ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER - FEB 19TH
This event is being held at Wigan's Comfort Hotel on the evening of
'Gold Cup Day' at Haydock Park. The focus of the dinner will be the
North West Racing Awards with top speakers from the racing industry
also in attendance. The dinner tickets cost just £25pp and are
available by post from David Kay at 15 Roseberry Ave, Morecambe,
Lancs LA4 5RU (Tel 01524 413753).
For the racing at Haydock earlier in the day we are also able to
supply additional members badges at discounted rates (£16pp) with
applications to be received by Feb 11ith + SAE. Badge orders to be
sent to NWRC at 53 Dalebrook Rd, Sale, M33 3LB .
RACING TRIPS
Cheltenham Festival March 2005 - Staying at the Warwick Hilton Hotel
with daily transfers to Cheltenham (Wed-Fri) this excellent value
trip costs just £142pp (sharing room) including Dinner. Bed &
Breakfast. Trip arranged by Group Travel on behalf of NWRC.
Northern Racing Trip October 2005 - Taking in jumps racing at
Carlisle & Hexham plus a flat meeting at Newcastle. A group hotel
booking will be arranged plus race tickets with members using own
transport unless numbers sufficient to consider coach booking.
During the year we shall also supply details of trips arranged by
hotels/tour operators, often at discounted prices although if members
have any suggestions for an NWRC organised trip I shall be delighted
to hear from them.
OWNERS GROUPS
The club usually runs its own flat owners group although for the last
couple of years our jumps owners have been encouraged to join one of
Paul Clarkson's syndicates together with either Haydock or Carlisle
members.
Our flat ownership group has been quite successful in recent years
with winners including Kozando, Princess Of Garda and Hawwam.
For 2005 we intend to lease a horse for the flat season with shares
available as small as 2% stake in the horse thus with no capital
outlay you can be involved for as little as £30pm.
If you are interested in joining this years syndicate please register
an interest ASAP via email - we shall be drawing up a short list of
potential horses for members to choose from over the next couple of
months.
Regards
Phil Evans
