FANTASY HORSE RACING   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #774 of 1547 |

Phil has kindly suggested I post details of a game I have put
together, that has been designed with aiding equine and horse racing
related charities.

It can be found at www.fantasyhorseracing.net and to give you and
idea of what is involved and how to play, please read on.

Escorial Racing has designed and had built what we consider to be the
worlds best and most unique Fantasy Horse Racing game, which can be
found at www.fantasyhorseracing.net
The purpose of the game is to aid equine and horse racing related
charities and to date, we have partnered with the Bob Champion Cancer
Trust, Greatwood Caring for Retired Racehorses and Brownbread Horse
Rescue. Racing Welfare has asked us to contact them early in the New
Year to discuss the project.

Kim Bailey has confirmed he will do all he can to assist us.

I am now contacting every racecourse, trainer, owner and organisation
connected to horse racing, as we need the help of all of you to make
this the success it deserves to be. We are, in the first instance,
looking to forge reciprocal links with those that have websites and
that can actively promote the game.

We would also appreciate your telling your friends that the game is
live and that their support would be most welcome.
Below you will find full details of how the game is played and I hope
you will take time to read them

THE GAME

It's actually very simple to play but to win, you'll need skill,
judgement and, an amount of luck.

The game is, essentially, "Tote Ten To Follow meets Fantasy
Football"....with bells on!

From a list of 500 horses, each having a nominated value, you must
construct a stable of 15 horses, using the "imaginary" budget of
£50
million pounds we'll provide.

After selecting your stable stars, you will be taken to your "Stable
Stats" section and you'll find all 15 tucked up in stables...sounds
reasonable.

Alongside the stables is the racetrack and, when any of your horses
race in "real life", you have to ensure they are on the track,
otherwise, if they win or place, you wont accumulate any points or
prize money.
Don't worry, we'll be making sure you don't forget! An e-mail will go
out each evening informing you that you have runners (or not) and
that, if they are in stables, they need to be on the track!

Unlike the Tote Ten To Follow, should anything untoward befall one of
your inmates, you have five "horse trades" per month, with which to
introduce new talent. How often have you wished that, come the end of
November, after entering the Tote's competition!

The game can be found at www.fantasyhorseracing.net as can full
details of how to play.

By signing up now, you'll have unlimited transfer
opportunities...until I flick the switch at 11-00am, on the morning
of November 6th!

WHO BENEFITS?

When I first set about this project, my intention was to aid horse
racing and equine related charities. With this in mind, we have had
built into the game a Charity League system.
Once you have created your stable, you will be given the option to
join a Charity League related to Equine, Jockeys or Stable Staff. All
are more than worthy of your support but you are under no obligation
to join any of them.
Should you wish to do so, 20% of your £10 entry fee is donated to
that charity and your stable entered into that league. This is in
addition to the game proper, and your league of 10, for which you
will be competing for prizes. Full details of all the prizes can be
found on the website www.fantasyhorseracing.net

To date, The Bob Champion Cancer Trust, Greatwood Caring for Retired
Racehorses and Brownbread Horse Rescue have opted to work with us in
this venture and we are hopeful of more joining before the game
commences on November 6th.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Firstly, and most obviously, by signing up to play the game!

We are in the process of contacting everyone connected with horse
racing. Owners, trainers and punters can all help to make this a
success....and we do need your help so, after entering yourself,
please forward this message to friends and invite them to play!

FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS

During this competition, many other bits and pieces will be
introduced. An ADD/EDIT facility, that will enable us to introduce
those new stars as they emerge, a CORPORATE LEAGUE system, other
superb competitions that provide entry for your existing stables, to
those run specifically for Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood and
seriously decent prizes will be offered to the "trainers" winning
those!

I'm even considering an "forum" league system, that will enable
members of each forum to compete against each other (you can put up
your own prizes for that one!) and a Forum League that will pit you
against members from other forums....we'll put up a prize for that
one....if it happens.

This will be, without doubt, the most exciting game of its kind.

I hope, after reading these words you are at least intrigued and my
only regret about the whole thing, is that I'll not be able to play
it!

Should you have any questions at all about any aspect of the game,
please contact me and I'll do my very best to answer them
