Hello,
A few bits of entry news to pass on to you .......................
KANDJAR DALLIER - he holds an entry at Bangor on Saturday and, subject to
speaking with Alan, he'll run in this 3m chase. At the top end of the weights
the race is cutting up a little so hopefully Kandjar will be able to end his
career with Let's Live Racing on a high note. Kandjar holds an entry at the
Doncaster May sales & he'll make someone a lovely hunter chaser.
CHARMAINE WOOD - she holds an entry on Sunday at Stratford in a mares handicap.
It's likely she'll have a fair bit of weight but it's all relevant to the
opposition she'll face - it will end up a 0-115 for a good pot. Unlucky last
time when wiped out early in the race on the paddock bend at Newbury I hope she
gets a trouble free passage on this occasion. Alan tells me she is in good form
& he is happy with the trip and track.
LATIN SCHOLAR - he holds an entry at Stratford in a 2m handicap hurdle but isn't
certain to get a run due to his ballot number. He would want ground on the
quicker side so we have the promised rain to consider too. Alan has done loads
of schooling since his last run ( good 2nd at Southwell ) and he's been jumping
well. We are hopeful of a good run here or, if we miss the cut, at Bangor the
following Friday.
OSCAR JACK - everyone involved with the horse was left frustrated when he was
pulled out of a handicap chase at Towcester last Sunday due to ground that had "
Good to Firm " in the description. At 8am no rain was forecast by the track
nor by 3 separate weather website's ...... so guess what ........ it started
raining at midday. Venetia telephoned from the track ( winner with Pterodactyl
) to say "Sorry " but it's clearly not her fault. Oscar now re-routes to
Bangor on Friday 24th for a handicap chase.
DANSIMAR - On Venetia's advice we miss the Listed Mares handicap at Cheltenham
tomorrow. Dansimar is working well & is totally sound but the splint she got at
the Festival is still giving a bit of pain under thumb pressure. Venetia feels
it's best to wait with her, so we will follow her advice. We do have Plan B up
our sleeve so she'll now get an entry at Haydock on Saturday 25th in a 1m6f
handicap on the flat. She was a maiden in 17 attempts for Mick Channon but
has improved nicely over hurdles for Venetia. Can she translate that
improvement for her new yard - we shall find out Saturday week.
Until next time,
regards,
Mark
