EASTER SATURDAY MEETING - 10 YEAR TRENDS
Previous race trends can often help provide a shortlist of potential winners in
the current year's races - the details below cover races run in current format
for at least three years. Hopefully these brief pointers will assist racegoers
at Carlisle today. The figure in brackets after the race details is the
favourites record in the race:
(2.20) 2M Novice Chase (38%): Previously run as a beginners chase with all
winners finishing no better than 3rd on last completed outing - all had however
at least one 2nd/3rd place in last four runs. However all were well supported in
the betting at odds of 11/2 or shorter.P Beaumont has trained 2 of the last 4
winners. Last three winning jockeys were all claiming a weight allowance.
(2.50) 3M 2F Handicap Chase (0%): Run nine times in current format yet no
favourite has yet prevailed. A last completed run finishing 6th or better also a
common theme as was a last run within 37 days. All also had finished 4th or
better on at least one of their last two completed races.
(3.25) 3M Handicap Chase (25%): Run 6 times in current trip. Most winners had
finished 6th or better on their last completed race. All were also off the track
at least 10 days but no more than 45 days since previous race. Often attracts a
large field but longest SP seen is 10/1.
(5.05) 2M Handicap Chase (12%): Only run four times in current format with all
winners finishing 2nd/3rd/4th on last outing some 13-39 days earlier. D Costello
is the jockey to follow here having won the last 3 runnings of this race.Trainer
I McMath has won the race twice with Nifty Roy. All pst winners reasonably well
backed at odds of 8/1 or shorter..
(5.35) 3M Hunter Chase (25%): Very few common trends here although all winners
aged 8-10yrs old.
