FEB 16th MEETING - 10 YEAR TRENDS

Previous race trends can often help provide a shortlist of potential
winners in the current year's races - hopefully these brief pointers
will assist Racegoers at Carlisle today.

The figure in brackets after the race details shows the favourite's
strike rate in the race.

Only three of the day's races have records for a minimum requirement

of three years - they are:

(2.15) 2M 5F H'cap Chase (37%). Only 4 previous races. All past
winners had a 3rd placed run or better on at least one of their last
two races. All also enjoyed a lay off for 13 days+. Weight range 10st
3lb to 11st 3lb preferred.

(4.00) 2M Novice Chase (40%). The four past winners all had a win or
2nd placed run in current season. Trainers in this race to follw are
those with the larger strings with past winners trained by F Murphy,
Sue Smith, N Richards and D McCain jr.

(4.30) 3M 4F H'cap Chase (40%). In this race it seems best to follow
the better
backed horses as four of the five past winners had SP's of 9/2 or
shorter
. 8yo are the preferred age group with 4 wins out of 5 and a last
completed race position
of 4th or better was seen in all winners. A decent break of 21-50
days also seen since last run.
