One lucky person will be given the chance to win ownership of a
racehorse for the 2009 turf flat season in this easy to enter
competition. The two-year-old gelding, who will be trained by leading
Northern trainer Michael Dods, will be named `Tunza The Lion'.
In order to have a chance of winning this magnificent prize, all you
have to do is answer a simple question and send your entry together
with a cheque for £20 to the address given below. A draw will be made
from all the correct entries at the Haydock Park race meeting on
Saturday 21st March, 2009.
The winner will become the owner of `Tunza The Lion' for the season
and receive all the benefits of racehorse ownership. The horse will
run in your name and racing colours and it will cost you nothing
apart from the £20 entry fee! You will be able to visit your horse
throughout the season at Michael's yard whenever you want.
The Prize Horse - By Trade Fair out of Bella Helena
He is from the first crop of Trade Fair who won five races over 7
furlongs including two Group 3 events – the Criterion Stakes at
Newmarket and the Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh. He was also
successful in two listed races as well as finishing 3rd in the Group
1 Darley Dewhurst Stakes.
His Dam, Bella Helena, was successful in Italy and has already
produced 3 winners including Bevelena who was successful over 5
furlongs as a juvenile at Haydock Park. The 2nd Dam, St Helena, has
produced 8 winners from 13 runners and the 3rd Dam, Ergo, 9 winners
from 10 runners including the top class sprinter Up And At `Em.
As you can see this is a prolific winning family and we are delighted
to offer him as the prize in this unique competition.
Contributing to charity
At least 10% of each ticket sold will be donated to the charity
called Tunza's Pride (charity registered in England & Wales,
registration number 1126994). `Tunza' is a Swahili word
meaning `caring for'. The charity aims to support schemes helping
children and young people throughout the North West. 20% of any prize
money won by Tunza The Lion will also be donated to Tunza's Pride
with the remaining 80% being retained by the competition winner.
