YORK EBOR PREVIEW NIGHT - MON 18th AUGUST

The club is holding a preview night for this meeting next Monday
night
at 7.45pm at the Victoria Hotel, Newton Le Willows - about 5 mins
from
the Haydock junction on the M6.

Entry is just £5pp and sandwiches will be provided in the interval.

Alex Bird entries can be handed in at the preview or sent by post/e
mail. Click on spinning banner below for fuller details of how to
enter.

All welcome.

SUNDAY SEPT 28TH - STABLE VISIT TO MARTIN TODHUNTER'S YARD AT ORTON
NR PENRITH.

Club member Jim McGahon has kindly arranged this stable visit for the
club - Jim still has a few shares left in his syndicated horse - if
anyone is interested please see details in the club newsletter.

The visit will start at 11am with an optional pub lunch afterwards at
The Greyhound Hotel, Shap, to be arranged.

Martin, as most peole will know, is one of the North West's up and
coming trainers with nearly 50 jumpers trained by the yard in 2007
with winners including Crathorne (3) and Just For Men (2).

To book please send cheques (ifo NRC) for £4 (members) or £5 (guests)
to Dave Bates at 44 Burtonwood Rd, Great Sankey, Warrington WA5 3AJ
together with medium sized SAE for directions etc. Please also
include a contact phone number or e mail address in case of any late
changes.

OCT 2ND-5TH - TRIP TO GOWRAN PARK FESTIVAL

The club has been offered places on this trip organised by Bus Eiran.
The max cost will be 380 euros pp although this will fall if more
than 15 people book on the trip thus we have shared the details with
other regional racing clubs to see if we can arrange a larger group.

The cost does not include travel to Dublin so you will need to
arrange a cheap flight/ferry across.

The cost will however incude the following:

* Trannsfer from Dublin to 3/4* hotel on first day with tour of
Kilkenny castle.
* Coach and tickets to two days racing at Gowran Park on days 2 & 3.
* Return coach to Dublin on day 4.

If you are interested in the trip please contact Phil Evans
(philip.evans@...) in first instance - once min number of 10
persons is confirmed a firm booking can be made.

THURSDAY OCT 16TH - HENRY DALY STABLE VISIT

An untried mid-week day for a stable visit but as most of our members
will be travelling a fair way to get there we thought it best to
combine with a days racing at Ludlow (we may even try to sponsor a
race on the card if possible!)

The start time is still to be confirmed although it will need to
allow time for both the trainer (and members) to get to the races in
good time.

As usual please send requests for places to Dave Bates at 44
Burtonwood Rd, Great Sankey, Warrington, WA5 3AJ together with your
cheque (ifo NRC) for £4 (members) or £5 (guests). Please also enclose
an SAE for directions etc and also a contact phone number/e mail
address in case of any late changes.

A group booking for Ludlow races will also be made at a reduced cost
of £18pp (Club admission+racecard) and requests for these tickets
should also be sent to Dave Bates to arrive no later than Tues 7th
October please. We shall arrange for these to be collected at the
racecourse on the day.

OCTOBER 17-19TH - KELSO RACING WEEKEND

Members are again invited to join this racing weekend break at the
popular Borders course at Kelso. Previous trips have used the
pleasant Border Hotel at nearby Kirk Yetholm (double room charge apx
£90pn) although this has limited accommodation thus if we have a big
response alternate arrangements may be required.

In the first instance please contact Phil Evans
(philip.evans@...)if you would like to join the trip - self
drive to the hotel although shared transport to the racing may be
arranged subject to demand.

On racing free days there is plenty to see in Kelso (Floors Castle)
with walking, fishing, golf, shooting also very popular in these
parts.
