August 4th Meeting - Trendsetters Guide (1999-2007)
Previous race trends can often help provide a shortlist of potential
winners in the current year's races - hopefully these brief pointers
will assist Racegoers at Carlisle tonight. Due to the changes in the
race schedule in 2008 there are only past records for four races
today. The figure in brackets after the race details is the
favourite's strike rate for the race.
6.15 - 1Mile H'cap for Lady Amateur Riders (5%): All six past
winners ran 6th or better on last outing (running in last 48 days) .
Only one winner had odds greater than 6/1.
7.15 - 5 Furl Maiden Auction for 2yo (50%): No unraced horse has won
this
race in the past. Horses with only one run had never finished better
than 3rd
Although those with two or more previous runs all had a 2nd/3rd
placed run in
current season. Longest SP seen was 10-1. No obvious draw bias in
past.
8.15 - 7 Furl Handicap (n/a); Only run twice before in current format
with both winners coming out of the highest three stall numbers.
8.45 - 6 Furl H'cap for 3yo (12%): Historically an open race with
all past winners having some reasonable form (4th or better) in any
of last three races. Most winners drawn in either the highest/lowest
three stalls.
The leading jockeys/trainers at this meeting for the last seven years
are as follows:
Trainers: D Nicholls, R Fahey & T Easterby 3 wins each.
Jockeys: P Hanagan 4, D Allan 3.
