ALEX BIRD TROPHY
CHAMPIONS PRIZE FOR ROB - LEGER WIN FOR DOUG
The St Leger meeting brought this year's Alex Bird Competition to a
close and success for Rob McDermott who is the NRC Champion Tipster
for 2007. Congratulations to Rob who makes a habit of winning or
always being close up over the years. He receives the Champions
Trophy and the winners prize of £100. His best three rounds totalled
459 points, just ahead of Harold Woodward on 451 with Doug Richardson
third with 433. Well done to them all and well done to Doug of
Melton Mowbray who won the Doncaster leg of the competition with 190
points. Harold was again second with 175 and Rob third on 162. There
were 19 entries, so Doug collects £76, whilst the
rest of us can reflect on what might have been and look forward to
success in 2008! So that's it for another year. Congratulations to
the individual round winners - Barry Sheils, Rose Spencer, Ray
Spencer and Doug Richardson and of course, to Rob McDermott and
thanks to all who took part for their enthusiasm, skill and support.
