Whist Alan, Colin and Harold all managed St Leger doubles on the day
it
was Colin Malone who held on by just one point to scoop the
prize fund of £75 - well done Colin. His final day's selections were
Yeats and Honolulu.
For those members that do not know Colin he was also a former member
of
the committee at Midlands Racing Club but decided to move from
Birmingham to Co Gallway about 12 months ago and is probably our only
current member living in Eire! Colin is also bravely having his own
house built to own spec and hopefully this prize will allow him to
upgrade the bathtaps from polished steel to silver plated at least!!
Thanks again to all who entered - if you would like to suggest any
changes to the rules for next year please drop me a line.
Here are the final scores - I have to say that the majority of the
scores were excellent through the year and it just shows that if we
all
stuck to backing in classics only we could probably all make a
profit -
Alan and Rose scores tailed off after the alternate selection rule
kicked in and more longer priced horses became their alternate
selections so Im sure that the recent family sucesses in this year's
other tipping challenges is not over!
