10 YEAR TRENDS – JUNE 10th MEETING
Previous race trends can often help provide a shortlist of potential
winners in the current year's races - hopefully these brief pointers
will assist racegoers at Haydock today.
(2.10) 1M 4F H/CP: Favourites have modest 19% strike rate although
winners usually well backed at 10/1 or shorter. A win/placed run LTO
seems essential with a lower draw (5 or lower) preferred.
(2.40) 2M H/CP: New race in 2005 - first four home (in 16 runner
field) all drawn 5 or lower on good ground.
(3.15) 6F CECIL FRAIL STKS: Favourites again fairly weak with 28%
strike rate and again no winner had SP above 10-1. A win/placed run
LTO seen in all but one race. 3&4yo fare best - oldest winner aged
5yrs.
(3.50) 5F MDN (2yo): Another weak favourites race at 20% strike rate
although longest winners SP here was 9-1. Usually won by an unraced
horse or one with only one outing (finishing 6th or better). Draw
impact will be determined by positioning of the stalls for this race.
(4.25) 1M H/CP (3yo): Only a 10% strike rate for favourites this
time with only one winner's SP below 6-1. Last four winners finished
5th or better LTO with winner's draw usually 5 or higher
(5.00) 1M H/CP: seemingly the best race today for favourites with a
40% strike rate. In contrast to earlier race over same trip all but
one winner was drawn 6 or lower - indeed three of last 4 were drawn
in stall 1! 4&5yo have the best record winning 7/10 races.
In addition to actual race trends it is worth looking at the leading
jockeys & trainers (who are still active) at this meeting over the
last 10 years as follows:
Jockeys Wins Trainers Wins
W Supple 3 M Johnston 5
D O'Neill 2 T Easterby 4
K McEvoy 2 R Charlton 3
R Hannon 2
