I'd be interested in the RTM 460s and the RTM version of the 467s +

Ok!

Got the pdf for the new futures fins cat. and it is uploaded to hte
files section. Once I gage the interest in a possible group buy, I
will contact my supplier and get some pricing. oh, they are out of
state so no tax, just have to pay shipping.

Their current prices are (Vectors) F=fiberfilled, black
RTM=blue/black (explained in the brochure)

437 F=39.35 RTM: 59.67
460 F=39.35 RTM: 59.67
VF476 3/2 with hatched F= 42.50

I am not sure what kind of volume discount I can get on them, I can
get fairly good discounts on volume with their regular (non-vector)
sets, so no promisses. Also, they can usually get any fin available
from futures in a few days/week.

Cheers,

Darren

Note sure if I am going to be able to make it this weekend or not now, have
deliverables in 2 wks time. Got in last weekend at Santa Cruz, has a really
good time, ankle held up well (I wore a brace), though was painful next
day. It's probably not ready for a whole weekend of surf, but hey :)

I just checked wetsand and they are calling for 12-18ft NW and 3-4st SW
with 18 MPH (wind) westerlies; wundergound forecasts 11mph on Sat and 7 on
sun (probably more accurate). Not sure that that swell forecast means for
big sur, am guessing it will be filtered down somewhat .. ?

Darren, you can definitely count me in on new Vector Futures Fins!

Steve, I've never heard of the hummer effect, very interesting...

David, not every shop carries the Hatctet fin set or sometimes just one set...
$65 bucks is
a very fair price.

Has anyone seen a shop that sells the Hatchet as a stand alone? I know I'm
bound to
bread it sooner or later.

After riding regular Vector inner foiled side fins and the Hatched and the "S"
foiled fins, I
will never go back to straight fins, it's like going back to a station wagon
after riding a
sports car... uh, you know what I mean. By the way... I have a couple of
standard 437
center fins I won't be needing anymore if anybody can make use of them... $5?,
beer? or
entertaining offers? 437's are good for shortboards to hybrid sized boards. I
think they're
ceramic composite.

Thanks for the nice comment on the photos.

Yes, the jogger had a certain form to be studied :-)

I'm going to LA hopefully this weekend to pick up my board, so soon
I'll be out there carving it up with the rest of the crowd, and my
girlfriend will have to take the photos.

It unfortunate that I could not stay longer yesterday; there were
some very big sets I wanted to photo.

Cheers

I heard from Alex at Aqua Surf Shop that Futures is coming out with a
new template for the vector fins that addresses some of the feedback
they have gotten from customers using the first generation vectors.
Can we score some of those fins when they come out?

If there is sufficient interest. I may be able to arrange a group buy
for vector fins, sets, etc. (only future fin system though)

I use vector fins on all my boards. Futures Fins, although they never
update their website, supposedly has a new brochure out, with their
latest models of fins, and an expanded range of vector (inside foiled)
fins.

I really don't think I would switch back to regular fins at this
point. They just feel so much faster.

I like my Vector fins and hatchet combo, but I have only surfed them
on waves up to 1.5x. I haven't run into the humming that some people
talk about, but maybe that's because I never surf them fast enough to
even begin to hum.

The vector set is about $55, and the hatchet fin is an additional $20.
Personally, I wouldn't install the vectors + hatchet on a big board,
as I don't think they would dramatically increase speed or looseness.

Brothers and Sisters,

I have seen the future and I have ridden it. The future is the Hatchet fin by
Futures Fins. I
kid you not, this is the best fin system ever divised. It has two 467 VFR Tech
foils 3/2 with
an "S" shaped foil when seen from the rear, and a 425 "Hatchet" center fin. It
cost me $65
down at Freeline in Santa Cruz and it feels like I'm ridding a brand new board.
It's lively

then when you go to cut a big bottom turn, "Wham!", it's all there. You can
turn arcs of
any size with ease and when you want to go down the line, it holds the line like
nobody's
business. I think it's best for shortboards to hybrids & funboards. This is
the fin you need

Hello All.   I wanted to inform that I met an incredible surfer that organizes trips down to Costa Rica & Mexico (www.solazadventures.com) which is for "Co-ed instructional surf vacations for all abilities combining culture, yoga & message for body, mind & soul".  His name is Erik Wilhelm.  Really cool dude.

After seeing him fire off the line up, I asked if he would be willing to provide some intermediate / advance level instructions locally.  We paddled out together Saturday at Ocean Beach and really gave some great pointers.  I want to surf like him (dream dream dream).

Anyways - if anyone interested in his trip package deal or locally get schooled - give him a call @ (415)821-5730 or check out his web-site.  Plus, he will be at the party I mentioned many, many times this Friday @ Cafe Cocomo:

Do drop in...James.
