As with many I'm a bit behind on my planning.
If anyone is interested in sharing a room please let me know. I'm
easy going, only smoke in bed and don't have too bad of a gas problem.
Just kidding. But seriously, would love to room up with someone and
save money.
Plan B is sharing a tent with someone. I have a large two person tent
with room for one more. If anything you can use it even if I find a room.

Hello all,
There is a scheduled training ride this Saturday in Winters. Some of us are meeting in Davis to ride from there to Winters, approximately 20 miles each way.
Meet at the Mace ave Park n Ride at 7am. For those of you coming from Sacramento, exit at Mace ave, turn right off the freeway and make your first right hand turn. The Park n Ride parking lot is on the right side, just past the fruit store. This sounds way more complicated thatn getting there is, but you can call me at 530-400- 3434 if you have any questions. Also, my email is ItsallBueno@....
We won't wait much past 7:15 before we hit the road.
RSVP here or via emaiul so I have an idea who to expect.
It could be our last big ride before Thursday's NCAC. Hope to see you there.

Did you find a place to crash? If not, you
can use my couch or my floor. I’m about 15 miles from the start/finish,
but a friend has agreed to drive me to the start and I’m sure he could
give you and your bike and gear to the start.

NCAC Rider looking for a place to sleep
Hello All,
I can't beleive it's less than a week and a half before the ride! I'm
really excited to be joining you all this year.
I'm driving up from San Jose
on the 17th, and am hoping to find
someone willing to let me crash out on their couch or floor that
night. (and again on the 21st as I really don't want to have to drive
home the same day after finishing the ride. : ) It would be best if
it could be someplace close to the start/end point of the ride, but
I'm open to other possibilities if there is a way to get me , my gear
and my bike to the start point.
I also need a safe place to leave my car parked during the event (any
suggestions?)

Hello everyone. I was just wondering if someone would be willing to
give me a ride to the training ride this sunday. I'm a freshman at UC
Davis and I don't have a car, so I'm a little stuck. If someone lives
in the area or will be passing by on the way, I can meet you wherever,
and I'll pitch in for gas.
Thank you so much!

Hello all,
I know it's not a lot of notice, but I wanted to let people know that
Eric R, Tina and I are meeting at Guy West Bridge on the American
River Trail at 8 am on Sunday, April 30.
This is an informal group ride. We plan to ride to Beale's Point and
possibly add some riding off the trail onto the streets there. The
group mood and motivation will dictate the plan, but we know for sure
we are riding at least the 45 miles round trip from Guy West to Beales
Point.
I look forward to seeing riders I know and riders I don't know there.
Respond here or email at ItsallBueno@... so I have an idea
of who we should be waiting for in the morning.

Anyway, you said something about the distance keeping you from doing
it. Were you refering to the 4 days 300+ miles or getting to Sacramento?
I will be driving up to Sacramento
the day before the NCAC (on the 17th)
and will most likely be driving through SF on the way, and I'd be
willing to pick you up if you want to commute together.
About your trianing;
If you are having trouble trianing because you have noone to train with,
there are LOTS of SF cycists trianing for the AIDS Lifecycle in June.
You could always join any of the AIDS LifeCycle training rides bewteen
now and then. (They are open to non-participants, except for "The
Day
on theRide" trianing event next Saturday.) It's be a great
opportunity
to learn how to ride in a group and pick up some great safety tips, if
you're not familiar with them already.
Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance or wnat to take me up
on the offer.

Hello All
There has been some interest expressed in a Sunday ride. If anyone
would like to get something informal together please let the others
know by posting it to the group. Just pick a time and a place and let
everyone know.I unfortunatly wont be able to make it so you all have
fun with out me.
I did this century 2 years ago and had a
totally fun time. One of the neat parts was that it actually has a water
crossing on it. You ride your bike off of a levee onto a ferry that takes you
across some canal or river and then ride right off the other side. And if you’re
a complete geek like me who will do just about anything for a dollar, you stay
on your bike and ride it around in circles on the ferry itself while it’s
crossing the river.

Fellow NCAC Riders,
Yesterday's garage sale was a hit! Considering it was Easter weekend,
we still had a lot people buying up stuff. My family raised over
$250.00 for both the Y-Me Empowerment Walk and the NorCal AIDS Challenge
bike ride.
I would definitely recommend doing a garage sale as a fund raiser. Ask
your neighbors to help out - you might find they want to give you stuff
to sell and keep the money for the donations.
For us, it was a great excuse to clean out our garage and closets. And
we did well for our charities too.
Hope to see you next Saturday for our Winters ride. Let's all do our
"sun" dance and hope for the best!
Take care and be well,
Eric
Enclosed is a copy of an email that I sent to the Davis BIke Club. I am inviting riders of the NCAC and their family and friends to come to my gargage sale this Saturday. I hope this works to help raise funds for the NCAC. I will let you know if it works, it may be an idea others can use to meet their fund-raising goals.
On Saturday, April 15, 2006 my family is having a garage sale. The reason I am posting the notice here is to inform the DBCers that proceeds will go towards charities.
I am a rider in the NorCal AIDS Challenge Bike Ride, on May 18 - May 21 2006. This ride is a fully-supported 4-day 325 mile bike ride to help raise funds to support services to people living with AIDS/HIV in the Sacramento area. For more information on the NorCal AIDS Challenge go to www.norcalaidschallenge.org. You can register as a rider, crew volunteer by following the appropriate links. Or you can make a donation for my ride by following the links to "Donate", then "Sponsor Participant", then type in my name.
My wife Judi and daughters will be participating in the Walk to Empower, benefiting the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization. The date of this walk is Sunday, May 14, 2006. To donate to or to join Judi and her team, the Pink Whiskers, go to www.y-me.org and follow the links to the Pink Whiskers.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our fund-raising garage sale. Garage sale items include furniture, kitchen items, clothing, books, etc. The location is 3153 Albany Circle, (Albany and Drummond sts., south Davis) from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Again the date is this Saturday, April 15th.

Hello All
If you are like me you are sick and tired of the rain and ready for a
little sun shine to make for some excellent training weather. Well
Hang in there because spring has to arrive someday right !!!!!!!!!
God I hope it is soon as I need to get working on my bike riders tan
lines.
I hope all is well and your training and fund raising are going well.
Hopefully I will see some off you this Saturday at the Pardee ride.
Take care
Doug
We moved the start up to the Nimbus Fish
Hatchery. Same start time – 9:30am. Here’s the dope.
Hey there, NCACers!
Here are two very important pieces of information for
you:
1) As you probably noticed, it’s been raining a
lot for the past week or so, and the forecast is calling for more. So
we’ve decided to move the start of this Sunday’s (3/12) training
ride up to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery again. Start time is still 9:30
am. The hatchery is located just off Hwy 50 at the Hazel Ave. exit. Directions can be found
at: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/lands/fh/nimbus/directions.htm.
If the weather looks iffy on Sunday morning, call Co-Ride Leader Maggy at
(916)769-2425 to see if the ride is still on.
2) As we get closer to the event itself (only 10 weeks
away!) it’s natural to start thinking/panicking about all the training,
fundraising, and getting yourself ready for the ride that needs to still
happen. One great way to help alleviate that feeling is to join the NEW
NorCal AIDS Challenge Yahoo discussion group. It’s a forum
for exchanging ideas, inspiration, and general good feelings about the event,
getting ready for it, and why people decide to participate. **Former NCACers:
Please note that this is a NEW forum you need to join even if you’re
already on the old one.**

I am always looking for non-scheduled NCAC training rides to do on the
weekend. Some of us have already gotten together to ride the
Vacaville hills and last weekend 4 of us did a fast paced ride on the
