Hey y’all,

 

A reminder that there is a batizado in Houston, and we are leaving tomorrow (Friday) around 2pm.  Check out http://www.grupocapoeirabrasil.com/.  I think there is room for one more in my car if anyone is interested in going.  We’ll come back Sunday afternoon/evening.  There are several rodas through out the weekend, and the main event, the batizado, is Saturday afternoon.  Admission for spectators is $10, and the charges for participants are listed on the website.

 

I’m very happy to announce that Professor Cocada and his sometimes lovely wife Rosa have arrived in New Orleans.  The capoeira community here is growing, and it’s a very exciting time to be a part of it.  Cocada is an awesome capoeirista and a great teacher.  His bio is on http://maculele.com/.  He will start teaching classes soon, and I will keep you all informed about time, location, etc.  If anyone knows of a suitable space that is available, please let me know.   

 

Professor Carlao’s class is continuing at the Fine Arts Center on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 630-8pm.  

 

I hope to see you all in class or in a roda.
