The Governator is about 6'1. At his biggest he was about 250, which
shows you how far body-building has come in the last 20 years. As for
Noah's developement, I believe he was a high school football star on
Cape Cod. By the way, a few years ago at the US Nationals, I sat
right behind him--he was 335 then and an absolute wall of muscle.
I've seen some very big guys, but nothing to compare with him. He was
wearing a white t-shirt and you could have shown movies on his back.
I'm 6'2 and felt overwhelmed by his presence. He and his girl friend
:-( seemed to be very nice to everyone coming up to him. Everyone in
the audience paid more attention to him then the guys competing on
stage.-- In noahsteere@yahoogroups.com, Gil Bomberger <wulfdar@y...>

Only because they are not compared to anyone of relative tallness in most photos. When we first see the photo of a bodybuilder, we, in our minds, cannot envision someone so massive and yet so short. Yet, in reality, it is usually the case. Later, when we see our bodybuilder-heroes, do we become shocked at their height and say, "Dayum, he's short!"

I work with a guy who is extremely tall. His rationale for not working out is because he already considers himself a freak of nature; everyone he meets comments, "Gee, how tall are you?" or some other quip regarding his height. The last thing he wants to do is be a bodybuilder too! But, he's happily married, educated, and finds no need or desire to be freakier. We all have our reasons.
Dave.

Hi MASSMANN1,

At the time I met Greg, I was about 270 pounds, and he made me look like one of those "before" shots in the "muscle mags."  What is hard to appreciate from photos of Greg is his unbelievable thickness, especially in his upper body, viewed from any angle. - Thor

Hi MASSMANN1,

I do not believe I've seen any reputable source where Greg Kovacs' height has been given as 6' 5".  He is usually listed as somewhere between 6' 2" (at MuscleMemory.com) to 6' 3¼" (mXmen.com).  Bodybuildingpro.com lists him at 6' 3", which is about what I would estimate Greg's height to be based on my standing next to him several years ago and noticing that he was only slightly taller than me.  I am 6' 2".  I overheard him telling another fan that he was about 330 pounds at the time.  That seemed about right. - Thor
