A copy of the Directory has been posted to the web site and the
printers have the art. I expect to have 200 copies on Thursday and
have them collated, assembled and labeled for the 10/19 meeting.
Each member in good standing is entitled to one copy and the balance
will be sold for $1.00 each to offset any cost over-run. Any extra
money collected will be used for seed money for the 2006/2007
Directory due approximately one year from now. A complete accounting
will be turned over to the executive committee and I expect the final
cost to be very near the $75.00 estimate.
My thanks to those who submitted corrections, all of which have been
loaded into this last revision. I would like to especially thank
Renee' Amoscato for collecting and forwarding many corrections from
the membership renewal forms and Jane miles for reviewing the price
table several times until I was able to get it right.
Please know that every effort has been made to provide for accurate
information. If you find errors, please notify me via e-mail to
insure they are resolved for the next run. You can also submit
changes or corrections by tearing out and mailing page 17.

Sterling Lake Loop
Sunday Nov 6 at 1pm.
Meet at the visitor center for a nice ramble around beautiful Sterling
Lake. Bring water, snacks or a late lunch if you prefer. There's a
great place to stop about an hour into the walk. Wear sturdy shoes and
bright colors, not white, brown or green; they do allow hunting in
parts of the park, (but not where we are going).
Directions:
Take NY thruway to exit 15A for Rte 17N. Turn LEFT onto 17N for 1.4
miles. Take exit for Ringwood/Sterling Forest, heading toward Ringwood
Manor. Follow Sterling Mine Rd (county 72) west for 3.0 miles, then
turn RIGHT (at light), onto Long Meadow Rd (county 84). Proceed N on
C84 for 3.5 miles, then turn LEFT onto Old Forge Rd (small sign for the
park). Continue for 0.5 mile til you reach the parking lot on the
RIGHT. The visitor center is on the LEFT.
Please let Pat or Chuck know if you are coming.
(973)335-6810
Finally, the opportunity you've been waiting for. I
know you're going to dress Chuck up in camoflage and
let him lead the hike!
See you then,
Caroline

Rachel will be performing this Thursday, November 10, from 8 to 10pm,
at the Wearhouse Grill in the Woodport section of Lake Hopatcong.
Please come out and support her as she starts playing bigger and
better venue's. This is a great place for drinks, dinner, or snacks
and a great place to enjoy an awesome performer.
Directions: RT 80 to RT 15 North. Go about 5 miles on RT 15 North
and get off at the Weldon Rd/Woodport Exit ( The exit is the one after
you go under the overpass ). Continue across the overpass and make a
right onto Rt 181. Go about 1.5 miles and you will see the Wearhouse
Grill on the left .
Jim,
Thanks for the info. I'd love to come but have a
previous commitment. She has a lovely voice - enjoy!
And keep me posted when she's performing locally.

Per the request at the last meeting, I have updated my cash flow
report and posted it in Files. Have a look and send me any comments
you may have. I will try to update this on a regular basis.
Rachel Allyn (Heintz) will be the entertainment on Thursday, 12/1/05,
8 to 10PM, at the Thirsty Moose in Jefferson. The restaurant/bar is
located on Rt 15 South. From Rt 80 go north on Rt 15 (just past
Rockaway Town Square Mall) about 3 miles or so and take the Edison Rd
jug handle (at the top of a long hill). Cross the highway and make a
left at the next light. You are now on Rt 15 South. The Thirsty
Moose is about a mile down the road on your right (right at the bottom
of the hill. Come out and support your club member! Thankyou, John
GREETINGS:
I have recently learned that Jack Lavorgna will be having Bypass
surgery this Monday at St. Joe's hospital in Paterson. Our thoughts
and prayers will be with Jack and Lois at this time.
In light of this development, Lois and Jack will understandably be
unable to host the Club Christmas Party this year. I am asking any
member who can volunteer to host the Party at their home to please
contact me. Lois has the formula for this party down pat and has
already purchased a few items. Since we can find out from her what we
need to buy, etc., a few of us can pitch in and we can still have this
party happen. All we need is a host home. Pat and I will help out and
I'm sure that some of you will as well. This is a great social
function and it would be a shame not to have it happen, as we all have
a good time. Please let me know.
Chuck
Chuck - I just saw this - any update on how Jack did?

I spoke to Lois today and she told me that Jack is recovering
nicely. He should be able to receive visitors in the hospital soon
and should be able to come home next week. I will let everyone know
about visiting hours, etc., as soon as I find out.
As far as the Christmas Party is concerned, I have not had any
responses from anyone who is willing to host the Party. I know that
it's short notice, but all we need is someone to step forward and
offer their home as a place to host the Party for this year. I
am sure that there are some of us (Myself and Pat included) who
will help out with the running of this event. Tasks like buying the
food and other items can be shared, so that it doesn't become a
burden to any one individual on such short notice. Lois has agreed
to serve as Technical Advisor and as she has the formula for this
Party down pat, I don't think it will be such a difficult thing to
undertake.
Therefore, I am appealing to everyone's good nature one more time.
Plese reconsider hosting the Christmas Party this year, as we are
really in a bind and time is running short. If I do not have a
positive response by this Friday, I will have no recourse but to
cancel the Party. That would be sad indeed, as this has always been
a fun time, enjoyed by all.
Chuck Patti
President, NJWS
Due to the "Overwhelming Positive Response", or should I say the lack
thereof, to my emergency request for someone to help host the
Christmas Party, I have no recourse but to CANCEL THE PARTY. As we
have no place to host the party, it's kind of difficult to have one.
THEREFORE, THE PARTY IS HEREBY CANCELLED! If you know of anyone who
is not on the Yahoo Group, please pass the word.
Chuck Patti
President, NJWS
