Re: [NJ Mountain Biking] Places to Ride During Winter

Ryan,

Hartshorne is a great place - all year. It's 50 miles from Parsippany, so I
guess you'll want to save that for a weekend ride. At least this time of year
there won't be any "shore traffic".

Take 287 South to GSP south to exit 117-Keyport. Take Rt 36, southeast for 10
miles, into Atlantic Highlands. At the light where Valley Drive (8a) goes
straight and 36 curves off to the left, stay right onto Valley. Follow Valley
Dr. (8a) ½ mile to intersection of Monmouth Ave, Locust Ave., Hartshorne Rd, and
Navesink Ave., bear left onto Navesink Ave (8b). The trailhead is a short way
ahead on the right.

Have you ridden Lewis Morris Park during the winter? I rode there quite a few
times this past spring. It's a great park, but I would expect it to be much
colder than South Jersey during the winter.

Carlos

Hartshorne? Where is this about. I'm in North Jersey up by
Parsippany.

Drains well, hardly any rocks (less slippage if it is wet) and very
cardio.
