I agree 100%, Polar also use's the same sensor but is lot more free with letting 3 rd party soft ware use the data.

in your earlier posting. Now what we need is a way of getting the
accelerometer data from the foot unit. Access to the high time
resolution acceleration data might have lots of useful information
about shoe quality (or wear), stride technique, and other geek-type,
but runner-useful data. Wonder if Nike has thought of this. I'd love
to have access to these data to play with, any leads there? Thanks

I have had different results with distance depending on if I run fast or run slow. Export a text file to excel that you have stopped several times on a run....
