Yeah - I am keen to go see a Victory Game. I didn't
go on Sunday because my first focus was the Kangaroos
and being stupid enough to think they had a chance to
actually do well in the AFL finals.
I know North V Port Adelaide is not a huge game and
unfortunately we Shinboners have a supporter base
equivalent to the old Wimbledon FC but it was
interesting to see that this game got 25,000 people
and the Melbourne Victory attracted 18,000.
Soccer attracting nearly a similar crowd as an AFL
game is huge and hopefully will lead to the success of
the competition. Providing they keep the interest up.
I remember the Melbourne Storm used to get big crowds
when they started as well.
Now that the AFL for me has finished, I reckon I will
go to the next game and probably get a membership. I
believe it is about $160. Got to support the local
team.
gpdlaw - no doubt I'll have a pint with you before a
Victory game in the future.
