I think we all need to take a step back and realise where we were when we
got relegated. We were truly awful, and the squad needed a serious
overhaul. Megson has brought in 7 quality players, and seems to be looking
for the right striker to bring in (he's been linked with an 850k move for a
young Walsall striker).
Now, traditionally, Forest sides recently relegated with a lot of new
players have tended to take some time to find their feet in their new
division. Perfect example was the promotion season under Frank Clark. We
were pretty uninspiring early on in that season, and there were actually
calls for young Frankie to be given the sack midway into the season when we
were perilously close to the foot of the table. But all his side needed was
time to bed in, and one inspired signing (can't remember whether it was
Bohinen or Phillips, but it was one of them).
Similarly, I think we are a few games and one player away from turning
things around. We've brought in some solid players, and have an excellent
manager. Getting promoted is a marathon rather than a sprint, after all...
Cheers,
Todd.
