Forest midfielder Andy Reid today said he doesn't want anything to do with the
speculation surrounding his future and has told manager Paul Hart just that.
Tottenham had a £2.5m bid for the 21-year-old turned down last week and are
expected to launch another bid this week.
Meanwhile, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Charlton, Birmingham and Blackburn are all
understood to be watching the situation carefully, now the transfer window is
open.
But Reid insists he is not taking in the speculation. All he wants to do is help
Forest build on Saturday's 1-0 win over West Brom in the FA Cup and help the
club push their way up the Division One table.
He said: "The gaffer told me that Spurs had made an offer and I just asked him
to talk to my agent because I don't really want anything to do with it. I just
want to get on with playing.
"I am a Forest player and anyone who was at the game on Saturday will know I am
totally committed to Forest.
"I haven't been told anything. I just see what is in the papers, although I try
not to read them."
Reid said he wanted to play in the Premiership as much as anybody but he wants
to help Forest get back into the top flight, despite the fact they are currently
20th in the table.
He said: "I'm 21 and I'm doing a job I love and all I want to do is get out on
the pitch and play.
"It's every kid's dream to play in the Premiership and I want to make the best
of myself here as everyone does at the club.
"Everybody wants this club to be in the Premiership and, while I am here, I am
going to do everything I can to get them there.
"I have two years left on my contract after this one. I am a Forest player and
while I am here I am going to give 100% for the club.
"I have lived in the city and played for the club for seven years. All my
friends are here so I am more than happy to stay.
"If I don't want to go somewhere, I won't go. I need to be happy where I am
playing my football and at the moment I am more than happy here."
