DENVER (Reuters) - Some evidence about the sexual activity of
a Colorado woman who accuses basketball star Kobe Bryant of
raping her will be admitted at his upcoming trial, a judge ruled on
Friday, handing a big victory to his defense.
The evidence admitted at trial concerns sexual relations the then-
19-year-old woman had two days before and hours after the alleged
rape at a Colorado spa.
Attorneys for Bryant want the woman's sexual history admitted at
the trial which begins on Aug 27. They say that genital injuries
prosecutors say she sustained when Bryant raped her could
instead have come from consensual sex with another man.
Bryant, an all-star guard with the Los Angeles Lakers and a
married father, has pleaded not guilty to the charges and says
the pair had consensual sex.
