That psychological hit is stronger than we might
think. We had discussed that long-term possibility in
here before the day of Game 7 at length. And voila!
Portland is still reeling from that devastating loss.
<br><br>First, the Spurs just don't have the juice. Aside from
Duncan, they're just mediocre players with average game.
The demise of DRob only adds trouble. <br><br>Second,
I truly think each time they are in contention
during some games this year, they hearken back to that
sweep, and they possibly wonder 'what would we do if
these were the Lakers we're playing', and then just
crumble and keep thinking about them being swept. I know
it sounds odd, but hey, you never know whats going
on in one's mind...after being affected by a
psychosomatic sweep. <br><br>The fire is gone from their
hearts, and with the Lakers snatching it away like that,
they feel like just another team, no matter what they
say.<br><br>Now to watch this Laker-Grizzly game. Gotta kick back
after spending an hour and a half on the 405...lol.
