Congratulations to all, on a great weekend of base ball! A huge "Huzzah" to Paul Procopio and Terry Bishop for putting it all together. The Senators enjoyed playing against some of the finest vintage ballists in the country.
Hope to see all of you on base ball diamond very soon.

Brian,
Thanks for your input. I want Vintage base ball to get their due recognition.
Terry Bishop and one other player have mentioned that they would like to join you in late August for the All-Star game.
I'll be in touch. Good luck the rest of the season.
Paulie

Hey Paul,Again all of the Essex and Waterbury guys had a great time and if you do it again we would love to attend, and Jim Wigren told me that you were busy doing 17 other things so dont worry about not meeting me- Im not overly exciting. As far as the Clapp Park results (that is a really nice park as well)- we beat Elizabeth 16-8. I wanted to say that the umpire that did our game did a great job and we all enjoyed ourselves. Im never good with highlights, but Steve Buckley and Jim Wigren combined for a solid pitching performance and everyone on our roster hit the ball well.Brian SheehyEssex Base Ball ClubBrian,On behalf off all the "Elms" players and management we would like to thank you for coming all the way to Pittsfield to play in Hisoric Wahconah Park. I never did get to meet you, which really upsets me, but all my players took off and I had to run the scoreboard, sell ticket, sell souveners, open the locler room for the various teams and coordinate people who were practicing at Reid Middle School. I truly apologize. On Sunday, I hope the teams had a great time at Clapp Park. That was my old stopping grounds when I was a kid. (I think my name is carved in every tree on top off the hill with some different girl's name! Ha!)There was an article in today's Pittsfield paper, but they had no one covering the games at Clapp Park. The Sport Editor just had triple bi-pass heart surgery and things are all screwed up. Could you please send me the score of your game with Elizabeth Athletic Club and any highlights. I would really appreciate anything you can send me. I want to e-mail the Sports Department and get a final update on the entire tournament.I was really disappointed in the crowd. We generally draw 2,000 people on average to our home games. I was on radio, T.V. and had numerous articles and ads in all local media to promote the game. I guess cranks and bugs were partying for Memorial Day!Thanks again for coming all the way to Pittsfield. I hope you and all your players had a great time.Sincerely,Paul Procopio - President and Manager of the Pittsfield "Elms"

On behalf of the Essex Base Ball Club/ Waterbury Connors I would like to thank all involved with the Pittsfield Tournament. We played two very good games on two very nice fields against two fine teams. All of us there enjoyed playing the 1880’s rules and look forward to trying them again in the future.I meant to hand this out while I was in Pittsfield but of course forgot. It is a flier about the all star game in Clinton, MA.Brian SheehyEssex Base Ball Club
