BOWIE, Md. (AP) -- Three runs in each of the first two
innings gave the Bowie Baysox a 6-1 victory over the
New Britain Rock Cats Thursday night in the Eastern
League.
In the first inning, an infield single by Ruben Rivera
scored the first Baysox run. Kris Wilken then hit a
two-RBI single to center against New Britain starter
Henry Bonilla, making it 3-0.
An inning later, Bowie (54-56) added three more runs.
Wilken and Juan Diaz each had RBI singles, while
Ivanon Coffie scored on a Rock Cats error.
Bonilla (6-6) allowed seven hits and six runs, four of
them earned, in four innings of work to take the loss.
Forystek (8-6) tossed six innings of shutout ball,
scattering four hits and striking out four.
An RBI single by Gabby Torres in the ninth scored New
Britain’s only run.
