Double A
==================================

The New Britain Rock Cats rested last night. They take
on the Norwich Navigators tonight.

==================================
Triple A
==================================

Mike Ryan scored the winning run on a Bill Pulsipher
wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning as the
Rochester Red Wings defeated the Ottawa Lynx, 7-6.

Ryan led off the inning with a triple, and after the
next two batters were walked intentionally to load the
bases, Pulsipher uncorked his third wild pitch of the
season to allow Ryan to scamper home with the winning
run. Todd Sears hit an RBI groundout and followed with
a two-run homer in the eighth inning to tie the score
at 5-5 and Luis Rodriguez, who went 3-for-5, hit a
ninth-inning RBI double to retie the score at 6-6 for
Rochester, which has won seven of its last 10.

Juan Padilla (6-1) yielded a run and three hits over
two innings to pick up the win. Jose Leon, who is
batting .467 (7-15) over his last four games, finished
3-for-6 with a double and an RBI for Ottawa, which has
lost 10 of its last 15. Tim Raines finished with four
hits and a run scored and Nick Calzado had two RBI as
the Lynx tallied 17 hits on the night. Pulsipher (1-3)
did not retire any of the three men he faced in the
10th to suffer the loss.

The boys from Down Under helped power the Fort Myers
Miracle past the Daytona Cubs on Thursday night at
Jackie Robinson Ballpark 4-3, for their second
consecutive one run victory.

Brett Tamburrino, who had only one homer all season,
launched a ball over the left field wall in the
seventh to give the Miracle their first lead of the
night. Stephen Tope hit his fourth of the season to
put the Miracle on the board in the fifth inning.

The Miracle leading 3-2 in the ninth got a run in the
top half of the inning on two walks and two wild
pitches to get an insurance run they would need. In
the bottom of the ninth, Beau Kemp gave up a one out
double to Ronny Cedeno. One out later he gave up an
RBI single to Jemel Spearman to make the score 4-3,
but he got Luis Montanez on strikes to end the game
and pick up his 10th save of the season.

Recently called up reliever, Pat Neshek got the
victory after pitching one inning of relief and
allowing one hit and striking out one. The bullpen
combined to go four innings and allow just one run to
help preserve the victory.

Recent second round draft pick Scott Baker went three
scoreless inning and was backed up by a host of strong
relief outings as the Quad City River Bandits defeated
the Kane County Cougars 8-2, earning a split of the
four-game series on Thursday at Elfstrom Stadium.
Danny Matienzo belted a three-run homer to seal the
victory, while Jesus Merchan provided the key blow
with a two-run triple.

On a 40-pitch limit in his pro debut, Baker was very
solid. He faced just ten batters and allowed two hits
in three innings. Baker struck out two, including the
final man he faced, J.P. Schmidt.

Quad City took the lead in the top of the fourth
inning. Jesus Merchan and Seth Davidson each slapped
singles into left to open the inning, and Bryan
Kennedy drew a one-out walk. Alex Romero followed with
a fly ball to center field to put Quad City on top by
a run.

The Bandits expanded the lead in the fifth inning, as
Jose Morales led off with a single into left field.
After Trent Oeltjen drew a walk, Jesus Merchan drove a
triple to center field, one-hopping the wall to score
two runs. Two batters later, Danny Matienzo had a
two-out RBI single to put Quad City on top 4-0.

Quad City added to the edge in the top of the eighth
inning, as Alex Romero walked and Omar Burgos doubled
to put two men on with none out. Scott Whitrock came
up with a one-out sacrifice fly.

After Kane County scored twice against Erik Lohse in
the eighth, the River Bandits answered against Manny
Rodriguez in the top of the ninth inning. After
Kaulana Kuhaulua and Seth Davidson each singled,
Matienzo drilled an opposite field homer to right. His
three-run blast was his fourth of the second half and
his team-leading eighth of the season.

On the mound, Quad City’s Scott Tyler pitched a
scoreless fourth inning, striking out one.

Tristan Crawford was credited with the win after going
three scoreless innings. Crawford allowed just one
base hit in three innings, the longest outing of his
Midwest League career. After Lohse allowed a pair of
runs in the eighth, Peter Tautor closed the door in
the ninth. Celebrating his 21st birthday, Tautor
allowed just a pair of base hits and recorded a
strikeout to finish it out.

Mark Buehrle helped the Chicago White Sox rebound from
a disappointing loss.

The lefthander tossed a five-hitter for his 10th
career complete game as the White Sox defeated the
Minnesota Twins, 5-1, in the rubber game of their
three-game series.
