Double A
==================================
Josh Renick lifted a sacrifice fly in the bottom of
the 12th inning to help the New Britain Rock Cats top
the New Haven Ravens, 5-4.
After New Haven put two runs on board in the top of
the 12th, New Britain used an RBI single by Jason
Bartlett and an error to tie the game at 4-4 before
Renick brought in Bartlett with a fly ball to right
field. Kevin West delivered a two-run single in the
bottom of the ninth for the Rock Cats, tying the score
at 2-2 and sending the game to extra innings. Adam
Flohr (1-0) got the win despite letting up two runs,
two hits and a pair of walks in an inning of work as
New Britain won its first extra-inning game in eight
tries.
Alexis Rios, who tripled in a run and scored for the
Ravens in the top of the 12th, finished a double short
of the cycle and drove in two runs to lead New Haven,
which has dropped three games in a row. Hugo
Castellanos (3-7) gave up three runs -- one earned --
and five hits in two innings to absorb the loss.

Single A
==================================
The Peoria Chiefs got a two-out double to break a 1-1
tie in the bottom of the eighth inning and Quad City
could not strike back as the River Bandits were
defeated 5-1 on Friday night at O’Brien Field. Quad
City’s Josh Hill picked up his fifth straight quality
start in a row, but got the loss as Peoria’s Donovan
Graves and Ben Julianel allowed just five hits.
With the game scoreless, Peoria took the lead in the
bottom of the sixth. Facing a 3-2 count, Reid Gorecki
drove Josh Hill’s fastball to straightaway center
field, a two-out solo homer to break up the shutout
bid. It was just the fourth homer allowed by Hill on
the season. Prior to Gorecki’s homer, Hill had retired
ten straight Chiefs, including three consecutive
strikeouts.
But the Bandits answered in the next half-inning.
After Trent Oeltjen was hit by a pitch, he stole
second base—on a pitch-out. Jesus Merchan roped a
double down the third base line to bring home Oeltjen
for a 1-1 tie.
But Peoria scored twice more against Hill in the
bottom of the inning. With two outs, Jutt Hileman
singled, and Tyler Parker drew the only walk issued by
Hill on the game. With two outs, Milko Jaramillo laced
a double past diving third baseman Kaulana Kuhaulua.
The ball got into the left field corner, and both runs
scored for a 3-1 lead.
Hill lasted seven innings, allowing just three runs on
six hits. The 20-year-old righthander struck out six
and walked just one while being saddled with his
second loss of the year. A reliever before the season,
Hill has now recorded five straight quality starts for
the Bandits.
Peoria added two more runs, one unearned, off of Erik
Lohse in the eighth. Lohse allowed one run on one hit,
walking one and striking out none, in his appearance.
Quad City got one baserunner on a Jose Liz single off
of Graves, but could not reach against Ben Julianel in
the ninth.
Graves went eight innings, allowing one run on five
hits, for Peoria. He is now 5-2 on the year.
