tie with a run-scoring base hit in the fifth. Chiavacci (1-3) allowed two runs

inning with his seventh homer for Harrisburg, which won its fifth consecutive
game.

his third longball of the year, a two-run shot. Brent Schoening (4-3)

From the Miracle Website:
The Fort Myers Miracle took the first game of the big showdown with the Dunedin
Blue Jays 3-0 on Wednesday night at Hammond Stadium.
The All-Star pitching match-up lived up to its billing, but J.D. Durbin of the
Miracle was a little better than Jesse Harper of the Blue Jays. Durbin hurled
seven innings allowing just six hits, while walking one and striking out two. He
picked up his eighth victory of the season. Harper went five innings allowing
two runs on seven hits, while striking out six and received his first loss of
the season.
The Miracle got all the runs they would need in the first inning. With James
Tomlin on at third, Harper unleashed a wild pitch and Tomlin scored to put the
Miracle up 1-0. They got another run in the fourth on an RBI single from Garrett
Jones and capped off the scoring with a sac fly from James Tomlin in the
seventh. Joe Mauer went 2-4 with a run and has now hit safely in 17 straight
which ties the longest hitting streak in the FSL in 2003. Tomlin also extended
his hitting streak to 13. The Miracle now lead the Blue Jays by two games and
their magic number to clinch a playoff berth is six.

MLB
==================================
The Minnesota Twins had been the only team in the majors not to lose when
leading after seven innings. Barry Bonds needed only one pitch to end that
streak.
After his teammates rallied from a two-run deficit to tie the game in the eighth
inning, Bonds delivered the game-winning single off Juan Rincon with two outs in
the ninth, lifting the San Francisco Giants to a 4-3 victory.
With the game tied, 3-3, Jose Cruz Jr. drew a one-out walk against Rincon (1-2)
and advanced to second on a wild pitch. After Marquis Grissom struck out, Ray
Durham and Rich Aurilia walked to load the bases, the latter on a controversial
call on a full count.
"I don't know what to say," Rincon said. "I thought I made a good pitch. I
thought it was a good pitch. As soon as I threw the ball I thought it was in
there. The umpire didn't think the same thing I did."
"Barry Bonds I didn't think should have even been at the plate," Twins manager
Ron Gardenhire said. "That's disappointing. That's all I'm going to say about
it. Somebody tell me what happened at the end. I don't know what happened at
the end."
Bonds promptly sent Rincon's first offering into right field to plate Cruz and
secure the Giants' sixth victory in eight games.
"Unfortunately, I left the pitch up in the middle and he hit it," Rincon said.
"At least they're not going to walk him," Giants manager Felipe Alou said of
Bonds, who was intentionally walked in the eighth inning. "So they made sure to
throw him some strikes and he got one."
Tim Worrell (2-2) struck out two batters in the top of the ninth to record the
win.
Minnesota had been a perfect 25-0 when leading after seven innings.
"Of course you want to win games," Aurilia said. "You don't want to have to win
games in the ninth inning. They're always a little bit sweeter. It was a big
win in the sense that we came back and I saw a stat yesterday or today where
they didn't lose a game when leading after seven innings, so it was good to come
back against their bullpen and get a big win."
The Twins held a 3-1 advantage entering the eighth, when Cruz led off with a
walk against Brad Radke and scored on Grissom's double. Durham greeted J.C.
Romero with a single before Aurilia belted a ground-rule double against LaTroy
Hawkins to tie the game.
But after intentionally walking Bonds to load the bases, Hawkins induced Benito
Santiago to ground to second baseman Luis Rivas, who threw home for a forceout.
The former Twins closer then struck out J.T. Snow and got Edgardo Alfonzo to hit
into a forceout to avoid further damage.
Minnesota took a 1-0 lead on Torii Hunter's RBI double in the first against
Jerome Williams, who was making his second career start. It added two runs in
the third on a run-scoring single by Corey Koskie and an RBI groundout by Doug
Mientkiewicz.
San Francisco climbed within 3-1 in the fourth on an RBI triple by Bonds that
just got under the glove of a diving Hunter in center field.
Williams, who surrendered five runs in four innings in a 10-2 loss at
Philadelphia in his April 26 debut, allowed three runs and five hits in 6 2/3
frames. He exited the contest after appearing to twist his ankle covering first
base on a foul ball by Jacque Jones in the seventh.
"He's OK," Alou said. "He twisted his foot a little bit. (It was) just the
innings and the situation, we took him out just to make sure."
"I'm just real confident I could be there," Williams said. "I showed tonight
that I can pitch. I can pitch with the best. Hopefully, this will probably make
me stay here. The first start I was nervous. Now, coming out here, second
game, I didn't feel nervous. I just went out and pitched."
Giants reliever Jason Christiansen, who got the final out in the eighth inning,
made his first appearance since April 17, 2002. He missed most of last season
after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery.
"That was awesome," Worrell said. "That was the highlight of the night. It was
nice to come back like we did, but after going through the surgery he had it
made it more special. Personally, it pumped me up seeing him out there."
