Eric Crozier's three-run homer - his first in the Red Sox farm system -
capped a four-run fifth inning and led the Portland Sea Dogs to an 8-5
victory over the Rock Cats Wednesday night at Hadlock Field in Portland,
Maine.
Barry Hertzler (1-0) got the win allowing two runs in 2 2/3 innings.
New Britain (2-2) took a 3-0 lead with two runs in the first and one in
the second. Rock Cats starter Nick Blackburn pitched four solid innings
and was replaced by Danny Powers in the fifth. Powers (0-1) gave up four
runs on three hits in one inning.
Garrett Guzman and Trevor Plouffe each homered for the Rock Cats, who play
their home opener, weather permitting, tonight at 6:05 at New Britain
Stadium against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
