PORTLAND, Maine -- Brad Baker pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and
striking out five, as the Rock Cats defeated the Sea Dogs 3-1 Tuesday
night in Portland, Maine.
Portland loaded the bases in the the ninth against J.P. Martinez, who left
the game after a sacrifice fly by Corey Keylor. Jose Mijares got the save
by striking out Jed Lowrie.
Clay Buchholz (0-1) made his Double A debut, giving up all three runs in
42/3 innings.
New Britain scored twice in the second. Gil Velazquez led off with a
triple and scored on Korey Feiner's double. The second run scored on third
baseman Andrew Pinckney's error. Garrett Guzman's single in the fifth
accounted for New Britain's final run.
The Rock Cats beat the Sea Dogs 8-6 Monday in Portland's opener.
