Re: [N.E.W.] 2007 Boston Marathon race walkers and volunteers   Message List

This is a great day for a marathon. Wish I have a nickel for every mile I ran/walked in weather like this. Well, welcome to New England folks and now you can get a real taste of what it is like. On a day like this, we surely find out who is an athlete and who is being fashionable.  Lets pray for those who are from the south and not knowing what they are getting into.

Subject: [N.E.W.] 2007 Boston Marathon race walkers and volunteers

The weather outside may not be ideal but on Monday, morning, several
race walkers will be among the 23,800 participants that will compete
in the 111th Boston Marathon. They'll start in Hopkinton at 10:30 AM
and head for Boston. Here are the some of the number and names to
look for:

#21261 Maureen L. Danahy F50 Brookline MA
#21260 Ralph Robinson M18 Brookline MA
#21272 Ole R. Holsti M73 Chapel Hill NC
#21609 Dorothy D. Zullo F47 Wakefield RI
#21913 Steven Kimmel M57 Houston TX
#8280 Gary Morgan M47 Clarkston MI
#21402 Nichole Goldman F48 Orangevale CA
Bob Keating M60 Nashua NH
#21610 Mark Zullo (runner) M54 Wakefield RI

There may be others. Let me know if you spot them.

In addition, several New England Walkers will put on their rain gear
to work as checkpoint volunteers at the 10-mile and 20-mile
checkpoints. The 10-mile is in Natick and the 20-mile in Newton.
Checkpoint volunteers will record bib number and times of the
wheelchairs racers, the first 100 female runners and first 100 male
runners. Volunteers include Beth Katcher, Priscilla Frapier, Richard
Moore, Lauren Farakash, Jack Finan, Anna, Masha, Carol Kuo, and
myself. If you want to test your rain gear, see some of the world's
best runners, and help us spot the runners, then stop by one of the
checkpoints. Details are available at:

http://usatfne. org/bostonmarath on/checkpoint/

or, give me a call at 617-365-3123.

Thank you and good luck to all the competitors. -- Justin
