Dear New England Walkers,
On Monday, October 9th, an anticipated field of 6,500 women of all
running abilities will join world-class elite athletes on a 6.2 mile
scenic course through Boston and Cambridge. Since its origin in 1977,
this race has gained national recognition as one of the top road races
in the country and has become a Columbus Day tradition for many runners
and their families. The race is also the 2006 USA National Women's 10 km
Championship.
New England Walker volunteers are needed as course marshals along the
route and should plan on meeting between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at
the corner of Beacon and Charles, by the Boston Common. Volunteers will
receive a Tuft's Volunteer tee-shirt and instructions. By volunteering,
you are helping to sponsor NEW club activities, and you will have your
membership extended through 2007.
If you can help, please email Justin at jkuo@..., or call
617/731-9889.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. -- Justin
