Oh, good point. That's another thing that I stocked
up on before leaving for Death Valley - hand and foot
warmers. Again, I found them in WalMart. They are self-
activated baggies that you could keep in your saddle
bag in case of emergencies. I believe they stay hot
for 4 hours or so. (the ones I have are about 4" square
and flat).

I make soups, chili and stews at home and then use a Seal-A-Meal or FoodSaver to package them and freeze the packets. For tent camping, the frozen packets also...
