I make soups, chili and stews at home and then use a
Seal-A-Meal or FoodSaver to package them and freeze the packets. For tent
camping, the frozen packets also help keep things cold in your ice chest.
To thaw, just put the bag in a pan of water and boil until
the bag is heated through. Do that the night before (and use the hot water for
a relaxing cup of tea), then put the soup in a vacuum bottle. On ride day, pour
out some hot soup. Using a pasta soup will help get some carbs into you.
