Hi Angie, Leatherwood is good and also Mount Rogers NRA near Ivanhoe, VA.. There are several horse camps in the area (Iron Mt Horse Camp, Hungry Horse East ) and I own some property there that can be camped on as well but it has no electric. Anyway, if you or anyone else comes to either of those 2 places you'd better call me! I wanna ride too! Plus I know the trails! :-) I think that from Nashville Mt Rogers would be closer than Leatherwood. Probably between 5 & 6 hours. Yup, guess it's time to start conditioning! Of course...that's how we live at my house. Just ride'em at the rides !!!!  Jody PS. Cash Pony did an easy 50 last year with ZERO riding for 6 months...
I'm being forced to subscribe to this ride conditioning plan as well. Boomer has done minimal work since the Big Horn, in part because I gave him 2 months off...
