Barefoot Wines and the AVP have set up a league series around the country at 16 different bars. The top male and female teams will win a trip to California to play in an AVP Qualifying tournament. The LI league will be held at the Beach Hut at cedar beach every Thursday night. This will be a very competitive league which will be fun for the top level players and great for spectators.

Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup Gives Beach Volleyball Enthusiasts the Chance to Serve Up Against The Pros This Summer

 

Sixty-four Hopeful Beach Volleyball Players Convene in San Francisco on August 13th

 

LOS ANGELES, April 2, 2009 – AVP Pro Beach Volleyball and Barefoot Wine have stepped up their long-standing partnership with the creation of the Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup to honor talented beach volleyball players across the country. The series will draw hopefuls from men’s and women’s grassroots amateur beach volleyball leagues in 16 cities. The local series winners will have the opportunity to play for a main draw berth at the AVP Crocs Tour San Francisco to play against the Pros. 

 

The series will have a Long Island presence in the East End Volleyball league program at Cedar Beach in Babylon. Every Thursday night from June 4 through July 15 at the Beach Hut at Cedar Beach, Babylon, spectators will have the opportunity to watch the best beach volleyball players on LI compete for a chance to reach the AVP Pro beach Volleyball Tour. In addition to the pro league on Thursdays there will also be leagues for novice and intermediate level players Monday through Thursday nights. Over the course of the next few months, participating leagues will run a tournament series in order to determine the top players.  The winning men’s and women’s teams in each league will receive an all-expense paid trip to the AVP Crocs Tour San Francisco on August 14 - 16 and cash prizes. The winning male and female teams of the Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship cup on August 13th will face off against the world’s most elite beach volleyball players in the first round of the AVP Crocs Tour and be featured in the event’s television broadcast.
