Subject: Junior League
Program: Junior Beach Volleyball League for boys and girls from 8 to 18
years old. The league will supply coaching in the basic skills and games fro
players to practice the skills.
Details:
a. Divisions for players under 16 will play games that do not keep score.
The goal of the program is to teach players basic volleyball skills in a
non-competitive environment
b. All divisions will have coaches teaching players the basic skills. The
first part of the evening will include a coaching session followed by
organized games for players to practice their new skills.
c. Players will sign up as individuals and be placed in groups of 8 (two
4-player teams). The 2 teams will be able to borrow from their sister team
in case some players are absent any week.
d. Players may be moved during the season as their skills improve.
e. Games will be played on lower nets to allow players to learn spiking and
blocking skills as well as serving and defensive skills.
f. Main coaches will have high school and college level coaching experience.
Divisions:
a. 8-12 years old
b. 12-16 years old
c. 16-18 years old (including an elite division for younger players who
excel in front of EEVB coaches)
Where: Cedar Beach in Babylon or Hempstead Harbor County Park in Pt.
Washington (separate league at each site, players will only compete at 1
site)
When: Every Tuesday Night, 6 pm until sunset, June 21 to Aug. 23
Why: Offer playing time and coaching to young volleyball players
Costs: $110/player includes
a. League t-shirt
b. Volleyball
c. AVPNext membership ($20 annual membership in the grass roots program of
the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour)
d. Weekly coaching sessions
e. Organized games

East End Volleyball, originated in 1997 on the East End of Long Island, is
now the largest beach volleyball program on the East Coast with tournaments
