2. 1st Annual Volleyball/Wallyball Tournament at Eastern Athletic Club
5 teams are already registered with 3 openings available. Pre-registered paid teams that would like to try a game of Wallyball can go to the Club on Sunday, Dec. 12 from 3-7 pm and join in the open play offered every Sunday. The normal club charge will be waived this one day. Any players interested in this offer must let EEVB know in advance so that we can have your name on the guest list.

Date: Saturday December 18
Time: 11:30 am check-in, play starts promptly at 12 noon with playoffs starting around 7 pm.
Fee: $102/team ($10 penalty if paid after Wednesday midnight before tournament)
Format: Coed 6s teams, 6 players maximum, 4 males & 2 females
Teams will compete as coed 6 volleyball teams, 1 game to 11 pts., against the other teams in their pool.
Then break into two coed 3 Wallyball games. Each Wallyball team will play an additional round robin against the same teams that were in their volleyball pools.
Wallyball will be one game to 21 points with both teams playing rally points to 18. As soon as one team reaches 18 points, then the other team gets one more serve and both teams then play the last points with regular scoring until one reaches 21 . No cap and must win by 2 points. Top 2 teams in each pool based on combined records will advance to single elimination volleyball playoffs.
Maximum # of wins per team will be 9 in a 4 team pool or 12 in a 5 team pool (2 pts. for each volleyball game and 1 pt. for each of the 2 Wallyball games)
This is a new format that we hope players enjoy. I am open to any suggestions or questions about this event and format. Teams will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Use this event as an excuse to spend a weekend in NYC. Eastern Athletic Club is just across the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan.

There is a new Bulletin Board up and running on the EEVB web site. Please use this board to find players or teams and for general volleyball discussions. I will monitor this board throughout the winter looking for changes that players would like to see for the 2005 season such as which division want to use Rally Scoring and which do not.
