If you are a sand player, you should check out Lucky 66 in Albuquerque.  Definately the nicest courts in the region, meaning their sand is the closest to what you will find on a real beach!  They have two courts up now and plan to drop two more in soon.  They will be running a sand league starting next week.  They hope to run men's and women's.  Contact Robert at: robertoselio@... for more info.  Here is his email on the subject:

• Wednesday nights will be doubles night. It looks like this is acceptable to the other facilities as well as the players. The format will be a 10 week league finishing with a double elim tournament. Prizes are TBD, (possibly more vacation vouchers, NO GUARANTEE ON THIS.)
• We want the fairer sex to participate even though none of the nets are set at womens height yet. When the next two courts are put in this won't be a problem, but until then, there will simply be no gender requirement for the doubles league. If there is enough of a response from the ladies, I will set up a womens and a mens league on the  same night. This will present some challenges that will have to be overcome, such as lowering one net and games later on into the night, but this will be done according to demand. There should be at least 8 womens teams to create a separate league so lets drum up the interest of the girls, guys!!
• The cost of the league will be $100.00 for the 10 week session. You are guaranteed a minimum of 12 matches, possibly more depending on how well you do in the tournament. This number comes from a breakdown of $5.00 a match based on a 10 match league.
• I would like to start the league asap so that we don't run into the colder fall weather. July 26th would be ideal, but i realize that some peeps can't get things together that quickly, so i won't be demanding money upfront, simply a email or verbal conformation to play. If you are put on the schedule, you will need to come up with $20.00 deposit on your first night of play or you wont be rescheduled. This will hold your place on the schedule so you can pay the balance as needed. If necessary I will start the league no later then August 2nd.
